An unscripted family photo session captures the real, authentic personalities of a family without forced smiles or unnatural poses. It documents them in their “natural habitat”.
With three boys under the age of 6, constant motion was the name of the game during this 2-hr unscripted family photo session. We hung out in the kitchen, played in the living room, explored the kids bedrooms and had a jam session in the basement. And, of course, snack time was a necessity.
Our time together was all about dance parties, wooden trains, musical instruments, and wresting matches. The “baby” was a part of all the activities and surprisingly held his own very well!
During the course of the two hours I spend with a family, I will take 5 minutes to go for one group, “posed” family photo. If everyone doesn’t stay still or doesn’t smile for the camera – it is all good. No demands are made, meltdowns don’t occur, and everyone still has fun. Check out the last photo in this blog to see what I captured of this wildly energetic crew!
My name is Kelley, and I am a Denver family photographer. I believe that some of the most memorable family photos you’ll have are the ones that show the moments that take place in and around the home, where kid’s personalities naturally and easily shine through. Click here to get in touch.
